My Black-eyed-peas good luck ran out mid-month when despite having both Covid shots and a booster, I tested positive for Covid. I had a runny nose and was coughing a little. The testing process was very efficient and took about a half hour of waiting in the car before getting tested. The very next day I decided to get the monoclonal antibody treatment. Within 6 hours my symptoms were gone and I felt a lot better. Josie never tested positive or had any symptoms. We sequestered for 10 days then tested again and it came back negative.
We attended the Wellington Beer Fest and tasted many of the over 100 beers from 42 micro- breweries. The next weekend we attended the Boca Raton Seafood Fest and ate way too much seafood and then topped it off with Fried Oreos, Funnel Cake and Hot Fudge Sundaes.
Catherine and Scott hosted a Superbowl Party at their place and served homemade Cincinnati Chili over pasta and on hotdogs. Lynn and Hutch joined us and brought some bourbons for us to sample, and some delicious homemade chocolate covered strawberries. A good time was had by all.
We had a blast with Lynn, Hutch, Catherine and Scott at an outdoor Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band contest.
The next day Josie and I went to the Stuart Art Show and met up with Laura Ray who I taught with for many years. She is an accomplished artist and she was doing a brisk business while we visited. From there we went to the Palm Beach Equestrian Center in Wellington and enjoyed a great evening of world class horse jumping.
The following evening, we met with the gang again for one last evening of fun before Lynn and Hutch head home. We met at the Delray Pinball Museum and besides pinball, we played Skee Ball and shuffleboard. We had a blast playing all of the vintage games. We then walked next door and had dinner and listened to the band at Johnnie Brown's. It has been great having Lynn and Hutch here for the last two months.
I went to the ODU basketball game when they visited FAU here in Boca Raton. FAU won in rout and hit 13 three pointers in the game.
I took a trip up to Ocala for 3 nights of Sprint Car Races. Well worth the trip as all three nights were very competitive and I met some great fellow race fans.
