![]() Many of you who are Facebook friends already know that we have been very busy here in Arizona, But not everyone is on Facebook (I envy you) so this post is for them. We are well settled in here at the resort for the winter. All of our friends from Idaho, Michigan, British Columbia, and other full timers have returned. We have continued our tradition of dinner at a different place every Wednesday night. We talk more then we eat, and it is so much fun. We were able to meet our friend from Chicago Darleen, for lunch one day while she was in town visiting her grandchildren. Then my brother came into town for almost a month, so we have been busy. The biggest news so far has been Josie getting her cataracts removed and lens replaced. She now is seeing so much better, and it is fantastic. Our friends from Chicago, Jim and Darleen sent a beautiful flower arrangement, to let her know they were thinking of her on operation day. Josie has been playing Mah Jongg two or three days a week and she is going to Silver Sneakers workouts three times a week with our friends Gloria and Diane. She even gets in a game of Mexican Train once a week. We bought a season pass for the Arizona Fall League and went to many games. We were joined by many of our friends, BJ, Tom, Gloria and my brother Tom. Of course the big news with the league this year was Tom Tebow playing for the Mets team. I am playing golf two to three times a week and am showing some signs of improvement. It is so nice to see Christmas decorations up and still be playing golf in shorts and short sleves. During many of our rounds we are visited by a coyote. In the picture below Tom is telling this one we are playing through. The Coots are back on the courses again this winter along with all of us old coots. We also bought the five game ticket pass for the Arizona Coyotes again this year, and have been to three games so far. We have even made it out to the horse track once with our friend Gloria who seems to pick a winner almost every race. BJ and I went to the Cardinals Redskins football game at Phoenix Stadium and enjoyed the whole experience. My brother and I went to a few Arizona Fall League games including the championship game. We also took in a hockey game. But the main reason Tom visits is so we can attend dirt track races. We spent weekends at races in Apache Junction and Yuma, Arizona. We then drove over to Ventura, California for the 76th running of the Turkey Night Gran Prix one of the most famous dirt track races in the country. The track is right on the beach and the sunsets were beautiful, along with the thousands of boats in the marina. When you hear it is always warm in California don't believe it. It got down to 40 degrees with the wind chill off the ocean on Thanksgiving night. We had a great time and I hated to see Tom go back to KC. Since I was not in town for Thanksgiving, Josieand Gloria went to their Mah Jongg friends, Terry for dinner and hours of Mah Jongg. We are now getting ready for Christmas. We have the tree up along with the snowmen that Elaine made for us. We also have a wreath and Christmas yard flag out side. Again this year we are enjoying the Hummingbirds that come to our feeders. We have another "Bully" this year, a male Costa's Hummingbird who does his best to drive away all the other hummingbirds from his feeders. Of course once in a while an Anna's or a Broad-tail makes it in for a drink. We also have the other usual suspects making the rounds of the park.
