Busy Final Two Weeks in Phoenix

We will be leaving the Phoenix area tomorrow.  We have been very busy since the last post. Around the RV Park we have been treated to hot air balloons just about every morning and evening. Our neighbors Hank and Gale ,who are also full timers, have been feeding the bunnies around here for the whole winter. Josie said she knew how to get them to come over to our site because she used to help feed the bunnies at the Haddad's house. So she bought broccoli and put some out and they have been out here every evening since looking for treats.

Our good friend Aaron, and Josie"s daughter Cathy and her husband Scott  all came in on Saturday March 22nd. It has been non stop fun since then. Aaron and I were at a baseball game within an hour of his arrival. We would have been there sooner but someone mistook his bag for theirs and left with it. Luckily they left their almost identical bag behind and  he got his bag back after calling the number on that bag. We all went to the horse races on Sunday and Scott was the only winner for the day. We then went to Bobby Q's ,the best BBQ restaurant in Phoenix ,Scott and Cathy ordered the dinner for two and were treated to what would easily pass for a dinner for four. The take home bag was loaded.

Aaron and I went to four baseball games, and one hockey game.  We birded for 4 days here in the Phoenix area and in Southeast Arizona. He picked up 9 life birds and I got 6. We traveled through all kinds of terrain as you can see from the pictures below. It is spring here in the desert and even though we have not had rain in a month the cacti are in full bloom.

Scott was in town on business so while he was in meetings the lady's  looked at every piece of merchandise in the local Ross store and also worked on their tans by the pool. Scott was able to take off on Friday so he, Cathy and Josie went to old town Scottsdale and the Phoenix Botanical Gardens.

Our next stop is Lake Havasu for two weeks.

Hello Terry & Josie,
Looks like you are fully-into being "Full Timers". I'm glad to read that you are having so much Fun. Josie, isn't retirement great?

Last time I commented to your blog, I was settling-in to a long-term stay in Florida. Then Winter hit Paula in Orwigsburg, PA before she could get down here. I had to fly home to rescue my sweetheart from repeated ice & snow. Then, the basement flooded at Emily's new house in Richmond. Paula & I spent over a month in Richmond, diverting downspouts, interviewing 4 water-proofers, 3 contractors & 2 landscapers and hiring 2 licensed engineers. I learned a lot about mid-20th century home-building and hydro-static groundwater pressure.

We finally got away to spend a long week in Florida. Right now, we are headed North to PA for a wedding. Not sure when we will get back to Florida.

I will try to keep-up with your blog...so keep writing us. This moment, I am watching the Rays beat the Blue Jays. Hope to make it to a few games at Tropicana this season.

You are probably headed to the North country for the warm season. But let me know when you are back in Florida again. Have Fun, Tom

Sound like you all are having a great time. Wish we could do what you are doing. Bob is doing all right but still has the balance problem and falls on a regular basis. Hope that we can get everything settled with meds and will be able to travel more. Just got back from Florida on Wednesday to cold weather. But the trip to Florida was great and the weather was great. Keep in touch. Jerri

Awesome pictures! Sure hope you are cooler than we are here. It's
in the 90's this week. Hoots & Weirich are in Myrtle Beach this week,
but the rest of the "old farts" are playing Stumpy tomorrow. Sounds like
you two are having too much fun!
