One afternoon we saw a baseball game in San Jose and on another day I played a round of golf at Coyote Creek Golf Course. On our last day in town, I drove up to San Jose and had lunch with Robert O'dear an old friend I had not seen in 8 years. He now works in Silicon Valley. It was great catching up with him and we promised to not let 8 years go by before we meet up again.
I drove down to Pinnacles National Monument one morning and hiked up the mountain looking for a California Condor. I was lucky to find #69, "Phoebe the Forager"If you go to the website, www.condorspotter.com , you can get the full story on this bird. It was great seeing this magnificent bird and I was surprised how beautiful the Monument was.
Tomorrow we drive farther north towards Astoria Oregon.
