Yesterday was a good example. We were woken up in the early morning in Pahrump by a strong wind storm. Since we had 400 mile drive to Reno we got up and started preparing to leave. We have a check list for departure and arrival so we don't forget something and regret it later. I powered off the Satellite Dish and for the first time ever it did not stow,(fold down properly) . After reading everything in the owners manual and on line I called Wineguard the manufacture and they sent me an email with precise instructions to follow and that did the trick. They think the strong winds caused it to freeze up in the middle of stowing.
We packed up and and drove North with a strong wind pushing us for the first 35 miles. When we had to turn to the Northwest, we heard a flapping sound on the slide out side. It was the cover for the slide blowing out of the roller. Since we had retracted the slide in the strong winds it had not rolled up tightly and when we turned into the wind it unfurled. We pulled over on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere and I climbed up on the roof and Josie ran the slide out and back in while I held the cover down and made sure it was tight. That solved the problem. We drove in strong winds all day and then hit heavy rain and there was even snow in the mountains all around us. Then there was another sound on the drivers side like someone was taping on it. Once again we pulled over and discovered that the rain spout I had installed in Texas to funnel the water away from the RV so it did not run down the side was working loose. So I got the step ladder out and tightened it up. This all took place along the side of the road in strong winds and off and on rain . So as you can see not everyday is fun and games, but we are laughing about it today. Just a part of the adventure.
