We celebrated Christmas with all of our Arizona friends with a fantastic dinner at Jerry's home. BJ. Tom and I were happy to eat at the small table. With all the great food no one went home hungry. A few days after Christmas my cousin Mike and some of his family came into town and he and I were able to get in a round of golf. My Idaho Falls friend BJ and I attended the Cactus bowl to cheer on Boise State. Unfortunately they forgot to show up for the game and were beaten badly. Josie and I celebrated the New Year by attending a dinner and show by our favorite group, Straight No Chaser, across the valley at the Mesa Arts Center. Can you find us in the audience in the picture below? We stayed at a hotel in Mesa so we would not have to drive home on New Year's Eve. January is the time of year when all the fruit in the park becomes ripe enough to pick. Josie goes out every few days and picks Grapefruit and Oranges for breakfast. She also picks lemons that she makes into lemon curd. Good Eats. My daughter Missy was in Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show, so I drove up to see her for a day. We had a great time visiting the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas Sign and Fremont Street in old downtown. We also attended the Cirque Du Soleil show O. We attended the Phoenix Open on the first day when there were only 110,000 people there. That's a small crowd compared to the 200,000 plus on the weekends. We were able to get into the famous 16th hole, "The Loudest Hole In Golf" and see some of the better players including Phil Michelson. I have been playing a lot of golf both here at the Resort with the men's group on Wednesdays and around the West Valley with friends Tom, Lee, Russ and Brad. We have also attended may more hockey games this year. We look forward to the start of Spring Training next week.
