We consider ourselves old hands at this now and we can pack up and be on our way in less then an hour. When we left Virginia Beach three years ago it took us a half a day.
We have driven 25000, miles, or an average of 8333 miles a year. We have visited 42 states and 3 Canadian Providences. We have stayed at over 100 places. Some for as long as 6 months (Pueblo El Mirage Golf and RV Resort) to as short as 1 night (Wal Mart Parking Lot)
We have seen diesel prices go from a high of $3.80 a gallon to a low of $1.92 a gallon, an unexpected but welcome occurence.
We have made many changes to the coach in these three years. We have added sky light covers, front window screens, sun shades on all the windows and covers for the tires also. We replaced the chairs in the dinette and added an electric fire place in the lounge. We added a leg lamp for our front window early on in our travels.
Besides regularly scheduled maintenance there is always some little thing that has to be done to the RV. From installing a new exhaust pipe extension to replacing a broken toilet seat, to replacing a drawer slide, to a new motor for the micro wave turntable. When your home moves down the road you can't help but have something break or come loose. Josie is a pro at keeping all the cabinets and drawers packed so nothing will fall out when you open them after a long day on the road.
In the coming year we plan on working our way east along Interstate 10, maybe all the way to Florida We are planning on spending the month of June back in Virginia Beach. We will then go to Michigan and then work our way back to Arizona to meet up with family and friends for a raft trip down the Grand Canyon.
So we plan to stay busy and gather no moss in this upcoming fourth year. Hope to see you all along the way.
